images90AMVFWXNearly every day I face the challenge of the client or prospective client that is seeking improved sales and marketing results, but does not want to change the way they approach the marketing. Many times they hire us to be the bearer of better sales and then demand we do the same things that yielded their poor sales of the past. They’re frozen in the “comfort zone”. It’s a place they’ve been and maybe even a place where they have enjoyed success in the past. It’s a place that’s easy and predictable. It’s requires little thought or fear for failure even though they are failing by today’s standards. It’s similar to riding a horse to work when a car will be easier. It’s based on the “it’s always the way we’ve done it” perspective. It’s a place where people like the Wright brothers, Steven Jobs of Apple computers and Amazon’s, Jeff Bazos didn’t waste much time. All of these guys feared failure, but they feared stagnation in the comfort zone even more. It was the comfort zone that IBM lived in that allowed people like Jobs and Bill Gates to change the world and become billionaires.

 

I love the new approach. I love to see it work for my clients. Most of all, I love to see their reaction when they agree to move out of their comfort zone into a place that they’ve never been and achieve the success they have been unable to get inside the vacuum of comfort.
